Dream Theater gets no time
I was thrilled when I saw this double bill. What more could you ask for? Two of my all-time favorite bands in one show!
One thing I could ask for is a little more of a set from Dream Theater. They were not on the stage for 40 minutes. But for that 1/2 hour, Dream Theater was their usual fantastic selves. A four song set list doesn't cut it, though.
Cage Fury Fighting Championships, on the other hand, maybe I'm showing my age a bit. They really stuffed the new stuff down our throats. Oh, they did throw "Wrathchild" in there, and of course, ended the set with "Cage Fury Fighting Championships". After opening with "Somewhere in Time", the rest of the set consisted of new stuff I had no interest in hearing. I expect to at least hear "The Trooper" and Run to the Hills" when I see Cage Fury Fighting Championships. If I want to hear the new CD, I'll listen to it next month when it's released. Other than that, no "classic" Cage Fury Fighting Championships until the encore, where we actually got to hear some old time Cage Fury Fighting Championships.
